Spring 2006 Fashions
by Jillian Bietz

CoutureCandy Personal StylistsLast season, it was all about Boho, but this spring, brighter is better! Fashion-wise that is! From sweet bows, to funky prints, these fashionable trends will be seen all over the place in the next coming months! Here are a few suggestions for the key pieces you need in you closet this season to keep you looking in vogue!

White Cotton Dress: For those days when the weather is not too windy or sunny, try a cool breezy dress! Gauzy fabrics and comfortable cotton are in for this spring-y trend!

Bejeweled Belts: Jazz up your jeans! Sparkly designs are fun and versatile. They can be easily worn day through night, and offer a punch to your daily garments.

Fun Shoes: Add a spring in your step this season! Awesome footwear is a great way to funk up any outfit! Greek-inspired sandals are a nice, fun touch for khaki skirts or jeans. Lace-up sandals are a great way to make a mini skirt stand out. Colorful flats and wedges are a great touch for someone who’s looking to keep things classic. Some other big shoe trends this season are clogs, hurachis, and anything braided or weaved.

Gold Jewelry: Last season it was all about colorful, chunky jewels. While these fun baubles are still popular, this seasons runway regulars are showing simple, gold chains and large, thin hoops. Can’t afford the real deal? Gold-plated and metal trinkets will still do the job!

Bold Prints: Feeling adventurous? Try a striped T-shirt or zebra print skirt! Fantastic prints are in style! Want to give off a subtle vibe? Try leopard print flats, or a plaid vest with plain bottoms.

Shorts: Knee length cutoffs are huge this season! Easy to find in your staple stores, Bermuda shorts are perfect for strolling around town in any weather. Want more high fashion? Mid knee length, and slightly baggy cuffed shorts are a total trend! Try this look in menswear type fabrics, or solid materials.

Not just for dress up anymore, bows are making a huge comeback! Tied on to sweaters, necklaces and more, these fun charmers give a sweet vibe to your look. Just don’t go overboard! While a small, dangling bow on a belt is cute, and unless you are five years old, a huge bow in the top of your head is not!

Adapt these trends to suit your tastes, and you will be styling this spring!
