Gift in a Jar

To decorate the jar you will need :

Small piece of fabric

Small cotton ball or stuffing

Scissors

Glue

l Ribbon ( Optional )

Directions:

Make sure the jar you are going to be using is clean and does not have any odors.

Trace around the lid on a piece of scrap paper. Cut out the 'pattern' you just made. When you cut out the pattern from the fabric, cut it about 1 inch larger than the pattern.

To the top center of the lid, glue a cotton ball .

Glue the edges of the lid with hot glue, then center the material over the cotton ball and press down on all edges ... stretching the material to the sides so the material is taut. You may add ribbon to the edges if you wish.

Decorate a jar and then fill it with stuff that your dad would like.

Try to think of what dad likes the most and then fill the jar with stuff related to it.

Jelly Beans - put Jelly Beans in a jar as 'Happy Beans' , 'Grumpy Beans' , 'Smart Beans' etc.

(Some people call them 'Pills' but I would rather not as I would never want a child to think that 'Pills' are candy.)

Golf Lover - tee's, markers, balls Jr.

First Aid Kit (mini) - Tylenol, band aids, tweezers, alcohol swabs

Dad's Survival Kit - Tylenol, Candy/Gum, Fishing Hook and Line, Ear Plugs

Chocolate Lover - Hershey Kisses, Chocolate Cookies, Small Candy Bars, Small Bags of M&M's, etc.

Gardener - Seeds, Hand Tools, Plant markers, etc.
