If the Democrats want to win the heart of America back they need to:

Challenge the conservative view as it is voiced by radio talk show hosts by training people to call-in and speak back to them

Organize progressives in swing states---so they can become "blue states". Organize progressives to call-in, e-mail in, and speak out when the media misbehaves or acts inappropriately

Reshape the American Discussion:

Develop public policies affecting families---expanding the definition from Mom-Dad and kids to single parents, grandparents raising children.....

Change the abortion issue into discussion and public policy about birth control and child care

Change gun control into discussion and public policy about gun safety

Change censorship into a discussion and public policy about rational rating systems for TV programs

Refocus "too much government" into discussion and public policy about the role of government in protecting the homeland, border control, and terrorism

Make reducing unemployment mean a discussion and public policy about NAFTA and globalization

Change the public perception that cutting taxes is good into an understanding it means deficit = downturn
