The Right Jeans For You
By Jillian Bietz
No matter what your style, shape, or age, jeans are comfortable, convenient and are an absolute essential in wardrobe. However, with so many different kinds of cuts, colors, shapes and styles, it can get overwhelming when it comes to searching for your perfect pair. If you consider the "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" unrealistic fiction (because there's no such thing as a pair of jeans that actually fit, right?) read on because here's a rundown on the styles suit for you.
High Waisted:
Low slung jeans-or "hip huggers"- is a look of the past. Not only are they impossibly juvenile, they are uncomfortable and unflattering on most everybody. Luckily, these days, high-waisted jeans are in. When paired with a tee shirt or even a button-up blouse, your will appear put together and chic. Though high-waisted pants especially fit well on taller frames, the look is universally flattering. If you're shorter, try a slimmer fit as to not overwhelm your shape.
Colors:
Bored of the everyday blue jean? Try a colorful pair. From functional black to sassy red or even neon yellow and hot pink, a hued pair of jeans is a fun twist on an old classic. Just don't go all out-a solid tee shirt and minimal accessories will make the look appropriate and fashionable.
"Denim" Leggings:
If you aren't a jeans person, don't fret-you can still be comfortable and chic in a faux pair! This season, denim-looking leggings have been popping up all over. Paired with a tunic, the look is fun. Without the constricted feel of a tight pair of skinny jeans, you'll get the fashion forward look with more conventionality and comfort.
Don't be intimidated by all the options. With a little patience you can find the perfect jeans!
