Grilled Swedish Meatloaf Burgers with a Dilled Sour Cream Sauce
Ingredients
Burgers
1/2 c. Oatmeal
1/2 c. Milk
2 Eggs
1 1/2 lbs. Ground Beef
1/2 cup chopped button mushrooms
1/3 c. chopped vidalia or sweet Onion
2 tsp. butter
1 tsp. finely chopped garlic
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp. dried, chopped Sage
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. dried mustard
1/4 c. fresh chopped parsley
Sauce
8 oz. container full fat Sour Cream
1/4 cup fresh chopped dill
Other Toppings
8 slices of a good Imported Swiss Cheese
1/2 cup chopped green or spring onion
8-10 Whole grain hamburger rolls or bread, spread each with a little butter
Directions
Mix all ingredients for burgers just like you would mix your meatloaf.
Seperate and shape into 8-10 patties that are about 1/2 inch thick. Preheat
grill to medium heat. Rub your grill rack with a little vegetable oil to
prevent sticking. Place patties on grill. Mix together sour cream and
fresh dill and refrigerate. When burgers are cooked about halfway up (you
can see by looking at them) turn them to other side. Cook approx. 5 more
minutes or until cooked to your desired temperature. When burgers are just
about done, top each with a slice of swiss cheese and melt slightly. Place
each burger on a roll, and top with sour cream sauce and chopped green
onion. These are a little messy, so be prepared.
You can use the dilled sour cream for double duty if you make a side of
baked potatoes or french fries. Cooked or roasted cauliflower would be a
great side too!
