Grandparent’s Day Gift Ideas
By Aaron Hopkins
We hope you will all be celebrating Grandparents day this year, don’t forget it is September 8th! Didn’t know there was a day dedicated to your grandparents, well it has been a secular holiday celebrated in the United States since the late seventies. It is a day to celebrate both maternal and paternal grandparents, and in some countries the days are separated. Now we’re all used to buying gifts for Mother’s and Father’s day but what can you get your grandparents?
The ideal gift is something that comes from the heart that shows you’ve taken the time to make it or design it specifically. Nowadays personalized presents are a big money maker, and also show that you have taken the time to cater that present for that special someone. Many of the gifts we have found could be altered to cater for grandma, grandpa or both! They allow you to include names, special dates and even get it delivered right to the recipients door if you can’t hand deliver it yourself.
So we have put together our top 10 gifts that you could buy, ranging from kids very young (so Mum will have to buy them!!) all the way up to adults who fancy treating their grandparents on this special day. We have created a mood board of ideas ranging from home gifts, keepsake items & practical presents.
If you would prefer to go a bit more “at home handmade” the sites like Mom.me have great ideas for kids to make things and Penny Pinchin” Mom has a mixture of homemade and purchased ideas. Plenty of things to do with paint if you fancy getting creative, and a bit messy, with your kids?! Don’t forget that with any present and special occasion you will need to create or buy a card too, so if you don’t have time to make one yourself then let Decorque do the hard work for you, their handmade personalised cards available upon request.
Whatever you decide to buy or make, I am sure your grandparents will love it and appreciate the sentiment and thought.
