WHY PEOPLE DON'T HEAL?
I was mesmerized by Caroline Myss's entire conversation on "Why people don't heal". I intently listened to each word that she spoke as every word that came out of her mouth was true and I agreed with every little detail she told us here.
Let's admit it… we are too busy to think about the healing process or whether we have healed or will heal. I have come across so many people who don't even care about their health. They smoke, knowing that it would cause lung cancers and is a root cause of many other ailments. They don't have a healthy diet and they eat junk foods. Moreover, they know that it's not good for them and they blame their busy schedule for it. When such trivial issues don't matter to them, why would the issue of healing bother them? This is what I have found from my life experience. Does the subject on healing inculcate our spirit to know more? As of the current life style, I don't think so…
Not all of us are like the ones mentioned above. Some of us are truly blessed with spiritual intuition as well as medical intuition who understand the ability of the healing process. Healing is definitely not about freedom from physical symptoms of pain but it comes about spiritually. If you fear that it (your problem) will come back, you are still under remission and not completely healed. This is what Caroline Myss said in her lecture on "Why people don't heal". If you don't fear it, you have healed completely and this is how I acknowledge complete healing.
So, what are we talking about here? Why don't some people heal? According to me, there are several reasons as to why some people don't heal. Primarily, it is the misunderstanding that people hold on what healing is. I tried to asking people around me and people whom I encountered about their thoughts and perspectives on what they thought healing is. It was just as I expected. Each had their own way to define what healing is but all of them meant the same- Relief from pain. If so, why do some people continue to have ailments even though they got healed earlier?
Complete healing never occurred. They still feared it to come back and this eventually paved a way for the ailment to come once again. What we need to know is, just treating physical symptoms is not enough. We need to be healed spiritually and mentally in order to say that complete has occurred. In true meanings, we would be healed then.
There are a few perceptions that picked up a lot of momentum and became very popular and this included...
We create our own reality
You create your disease and therefore you can increate your disease.
These factors lifted people mystically and buoyantly out of numerous disease but they didn't really change the body. Anyone can put the perceptions in your head but it's not active. You need to make it active.
At times, we do hear people complaining that they have tried everything to get rid of this ailment and nothing seems to be working. As Caroline has come across, she met people who said that they created this disease and now they want to get rid of it and no matter how hard they are trying to, it was getting difficult to get rid of. Nothing seems to work, not even oriental medicine. This is a perception of the people. She also says that sometimes perceptions come to us in the form of clusters.
Caroline also says that healing is exceedingly "unattractive" and she ponders to answer that question. She says that relieving from pain is not unattractive but healing is. As she says this, she looks back a few decades, prior to World War II as she feels that our world has changed since then. I agree. We stepped in to a nuclear world. From the symbolic point of view, she views the bombing on Hiroshima and Nagasaki and splitting of the atom as the release of power of our super conscious in the form of physical form. As Caroline states, prior to World War II, most of us tended to marry between our religious tribes, biological tribes or with similar chakras. First chakra is where one stores family and the second chakras is where one stores finance. Family picked out mates due to financial reasons. Earlier language of intimacy didn't exist. When spoken to a few who married prior to World War II, Caroline finds that the couples did have children but they never had a talk above their waist. In other words, there was no emotional understanding and below the waist is what we mean by the physical obligation or need.
Slowly we began to overcome and when the language began to be spoken in streets and by every common man, we developed a language of intimacy. When we close our eyes and go into our heart and backward and into our biology, we automatically enter into our biography and what we find in our biography are the wounds…
We learn to speak woundology. Woundology, as Caroline says, is our first language of intimacy. It is through this language that we tend to mate with each other and bond with each other. Caroline puts this in a very interesting manner- by what people call is soul mates. They are in real… "Wound-mates".
In this bonding, we are exchanging an actual agreement as to how to honor each others' wounds but fail to realize the power. This is where handicap to healing comes because we turn our wounds to so much power.
