Choosing the Best Bunk Beds for Your Kids
by Benni Jenyfari If your house is small or if you just want your children to have the experience of sharing a bedroom with their brother or sister, you may want to consider getting bunk beds. Bunk beds allow you to make the most out of a space, and allow your children to play in their bedroom. Here are some things to consider if you want to buy the best set of bunk beds for your kids. Age: Bunk beds are great furniture for children, but parents should keep in mind that they can be dangerous for smaller kids if they aren’t careful. Ensure that your child is old enough to safely play around and on the beds and that if they are going to be on the top bunk, they will be able to safely and confidently get up and down. Size: Bed size is an important consideration, especially if you have teenagers who are growing quickly. If you have older children, you might want to get a bunk bed that has a pull-out futon on the bottom. A futon will allow older children to have a larger bed, and it will also allow you to have a guest bed after you de-bunk them when the kids are all grown up. Safety: Safety is an important factor when purchasing bunk beds. When choosing the style, make sure to think about where in the bedroom this furniture will go, so that the ladder isn’t near a window or a door. Also ensure that the bunk beds that you purchase are a high quality set of furniture and that you remember to inspect them regularly for safety. The Room: When you are selecting your furniture, you might want to think about the furniture that is already in the bedroom. If you have a lot of furniture already, you may want to consider getting two sets of lofted or raised beds, and putting the other furniture under each of the beds. If you have two kids that are fighting over who gets the top bunk, this will solve the problem because you will now have two top bunks. Following these tips will help to ensure that you get the best bunk beds for your children’s bedroom. Article courtesy of Bedding Plus - a resource for bedding, comforter sets, and bed sheets.
