Oh Christmas Tree!

 Can you believe Christmas is right around the corner? It's my favorite holiday so I look forward to Christmas all year long. I look forward to it so much that my tree is usually the first one in the neighborhood to go up.
I try on different color schemes to see which one I like the best. Last year, it was burgundy bows trimmed in gold with an angel tree topper. This year, I decided to stick with two main colors. White and red.
I have white snowflakes, white angels and white icicles. Even the lights are white.
Adding red bows makes a nice contrast. For the tree topper, I couldn¢t find one I really liked already made so I made my own topper.
I created a large red bow and added red ribbon streamers that ran down the front of the tree.
To make the large tree topper bow, take a length of ribbon- I used 2.25 red Holiday Ribbon. This ribbon is sold in 75 foot spools and is available at Wal-Mart in the Christmas section.
Form loops with the ribbon by pinching it between your thumb and index finger. When you have the loops the desired size, wire the loops so they¢ll stay in place. Cover the wire by wrapping a smaller piece of the ribbon around the center to make a center loop.
Using a longer piece of wire (I don¢t buy wire. I use either bread ties or the long wires that come in electronic packaging, those are sturdy and are great to use for crafts), slip it through the center loop for use in attaching to the tree top.
Lastly, cut lengths of the ribbon so when you attach them to the bow, the ribbons will fall about half way down the tree.
Using a simple household stapler, staple the lengths of ribbon to the bow by stapling inside the bow¢s loops so the staples won¢t show.
Place the bow on top of the tree.
