Summer Family Outing Check List
A few simple steps can make each summer outing fun and easy:
Check the local weather forecast for the weekend to help you decide whether an indoor or outdoor event is best! Have a backup plan ready in case the forecast changes for outdoor choices.
Consider the type of activities your children enjoy. Think about their nap times (if appropriate), interests, ages and what could be new and exciting. A child's smile is
contagious!
Visit local websites or parenting newspapers to find out what is taking place in your community.
Do what is necessary to ensure that you can attend your chosen event. Confirm that the event information has not changed using the contact information provided. Pre-register or purchase tickets (it is never too early to secure a space). Now you can tell your children where you are going unless you want it to be a special surprise!
Find out if food will be available at the event and whether you are permitted to bring in your own snacks and drinks if none are provided.
Pack your backpack of supplies the night before your activity to make preparations easier during the day. This may include food, drinks, extra warm clothing or baby supplies.
When you wake up you will have your plans, your bag, and your tickets ready (if required). All that is left to do is have fun!
You are not only planning outings, you are building special memories for your child(ren).
