Unless you have been in the trenches of the battle for your child's soul for a while, you might not have heard of Sean Dunn. His ministry focuses on finding new and ever-increasingly hipper ways of sharing God's Word with the students who have to run the daily gauntlet of peer pressure, alleged sexual freedom, and all the temptations that assail a 12 to 24 year old.

Mr. Dunn does not write huge tomes that require endless pontificating on his part to get his point across. In about 105 pages he deals with excuse making, the media, purity, security, priority setting, and other attitudes - many of them parental - that will help your young student to reclaim the road to spirituality she or he might have forsaken. Too often parents are content to simply preach to their children about what to do, how to do it, and when to do it, instead of trying to attack the attitude that is the root cause for their laissez faire attitude about God and His family, the church.

With the emphasis being on age appropriate communication that closes whatever generational gap in understanding there may be, Mr. Dunn also challenges parents to not simply abdicate their responsibility of parenting and emerging adult in favor of church, youth group, YMCA, or Boy/Girl Scout leadership, but instead puts the burden of parenting where it belongs - squarely on the parents' shoulder.

While this book is not a cure-all and there will be no quick and easy answers to a child that is caught up in the worldliness of her or his existence, there is a lot of hope, and Sean Dunn is doing his level best to make you - and your student - see that.
