Heaven Without Her: A Desperate Daughter's Search for the Heart of Her Mother's Faith
Kitty Foth-Regner
Thomas Nelson
April 2008

ISBN: 078522744X

Heaven Without Her is the journey of Kitty Foth-Regner from sold out secular feminist to a desperate seeker of Christ. What started out as a tracking of her mother's steadfast faith soon turned into a personal quest that took no prisoners and did not stop until it found what it searched for: the veracity of the Christian faith and answers to questions that are so common and yet so rarely answered.

Heaven Without Her takes place when Kitty Foth-Regner's mother is diagnosed with a fatal illness and suddenly mortality and eternity force themselves onto the author. Taking the reader along a whirlwind tour through the depths of unbelief and the heights of a burgeoning faith, she succeeds in making a compelling case for Christ and the faith He inspired. It is not an easy journey, and the book details some of the darker moments of doubt and loss as well.

Heaven Without Her is faith building for seasoned and new believers; those on the fence and still very much plugged into the secular agnostic network also find many gems that may help them finally see their way clear to Christianity as well. Christian parents of unbelieving children will also find hope in the pages of this book.

On the flipside, when persecution comes along, Ms. Foth-Regner's indomitable spirit is an inspiration that has the power to help those grieving the loss of friendships and acquaintances to realize that they have gained far more than could ever lose: family.

Some readers may chafe a bit at the doctrinal aspects of Heaven Without Her. It is noteworthy that even those who hold true to the belief of salvation necessitating baptism will find ample learning opportunities in this book. Best of all, it provides a once in a lifetime insight into the working mind of a highly intelligent, modern woman during a concrete paradigm shift.
