CHILDREN DEMAND A VERDICT: Answering Questions about What We Believe and Why We Believe It

Josh McDowell
Green Key Books
August 2006
Reading Level Ages 7-11

ISBN: 1600980120

CHILDREN DEMAND A VERDICT is penned by Christian author Josh McDowell. It meets a need Christian parents sometimes have not even recognized they had. In 77 short vignettes, the author explains in simple English why Christians do not need to fear death, why Satan is after souls, what God is really all about, how the trinity works, how we know that God wrote the Bible, and what real faith actually is.

CHILDREN DEMAND A VERDICT is an essential tool for Christian parents who are concerned about the false doctrines that have been sneaking into the church. Whereas adults may expound endlessly on the veracity of Christ's rising from the dead on the third day, today's children will simply cease to believe in a risen Christ altogether and instead may simplistically embrace the "good teacher" who may be one of many ways to God.

On the flipside, the Christian parent who would not know how to answer "how do we know Jesus is God?" in 30 words or less - roughly the average attention span of a first grader - and instead digresses into an extensive (and, for a child, mind numbing) dissertation on the veracity of the Bible as evidenced by the number of manuscripts preserved, this book is the proverbial lifeline.

CHILDREN DEMAND A VERDICT is highly recommended for children who are familiar with having daily quiet times, and who enjoy reading a couple of short pages on their own. At the same time, these vignettes make for perfect family devotionals and meal discussions. As a matter of fact, the odds are very good that parents themselves will learn a thing or two about the Bible they might not have known themselves.

Definite Answers
If the goal of this book is to get definite answers, then perfect. That's why I've sent my children to http://www.internaldrive.com/locations/ for their education.

Interesting take on Parenting
I don;t think I have seen anyone else recongnize the fact that kids don;t respond well to long answers and explanations. They need short and to the point responses. Good idea!
