Energize Your Patio with Feng Shui
Feng Shui is a system of Chinese geomancy. The basic tenet is to use the energy or “qi” to generate positive energy for the betterment of life. One aspect of Feng Shui is the usage of certain objects and principles of placement to attract good energy. The patio is one place in the house that can be made even more beautiful and positive with Feng Shui. Here’s how you can use this ancient knowledge system in creating an enviably vibrant patio environment
Patio furniture is available in plenty of designs, sizes, fabrics, colors and so on. The principles of Feng Shui rely on making this furniture comfortable and soft. It is best to choose chair with soft edges or curves and avoid the ones with sharp and pointed edges. The best colors for patio furniture and furnishings can be those mellow colors that are found abundantly in nature:
If you have a table in the patio, make it soft edged too.
Using Specific Objects
A water fountain is a great way o keep positive energy moving and flowing through the patio and by extension the house. You can also use a wind chime that will constantly break up the flow of bad or stagnant energy. Hanging plants are also a great idea to create a positive space. The light fixtures should be soft and shimmering instead of being pointed and throwing out harsh rays of light.
Potted plants are also a good aesthetic and Feng Shui addition to the patio. Do not place them where they can be obstructions to people in the patio. Remove dead leaves and keep the plants healthy and lush. You can also use plants made of fabric, such as silk and satin. Try and avoid dry flower arrangements.
The Plan and Design of the Patio
Create a clutter-free space. Clutter is an antithesis to good chi or qi. Therefore, store away the dust bins where they cannot be seen. Replace broken furniture. It is a good idea to create a space where you can walk through without any obstacles. If you have the space then you can even create a walkway. It is good to create a patio with a wood or an earth element theme. Making the patio as large and curvy as possible is a great way to attract good energy.
The Directions and Significance for the Patio
With respect to your house or property, you can plan and design your patio and its contents accordingly.
A patio that stretch across the width of your home can be done up with the more vibrant colors of red and orange, or even green.
If the patio lies in the right corner of your home then use pinks and white. This is said to be the romance corner of the house.
The money corner lies on the left and you can use this plan to do up the patio royally. Use magnificent combinations of purples and golds, and foster the growth of lucre.
