As a grandmother I always try to buy the grandkids a new outfit or so each spring.  I know I’m lucky to be able to afford this, not everyone can do this. If you can afford it and  haven’t done spring shopping for you grandkids in the past, maybe this  the year you should start. More and more families are economically suffering with almost 1 in 3 living at or near the poverty level.  A little help from family in away that is fun and not demeaning is always welcome.

Keeping up to date with fashion trends, especially for the teenagers is tough. But I’m working on it so that I don’t buy gifts that are discarded to the back of closet, never worn or  worse.  I find checking out some of the  fashion websites for teens helps such as Trendstylee.com.

Finding fashion for the little ones is much easier. The hardest decision for me is should I be  be practical or buy those cute dresses that only  get worn once on a special occasion then quickly out grown.  The same is true for little boy dress clothes.  I usually opt for the practical shorts and tees for  spring and summer, having to compromise for cute sayings or designs the t-shirts. I usually throw in some practical items like socks and underwear too. Buying clothes for children is always a struggle of deciding to go with less expensive clothing because they will outgrow it so fast, or more expensive items because they will last and can be passed down.

This year I have my first challenge at picking out Business Dresses for Women for my grand daugther who is graduating from college this month. She already has a job! Amazing ,considering how hard it is for new collage graduates to get jobs right now, so happy for her! I might not be up to this clothing challenge  so I might  just take her shopping and let her pick out a outfit.  That’s fun too– although I do like the surprise looks on their faces when Gram shows up with spring shopping bags.
