Summer is here! It?s hot. The temperature just shot up to 40 degrees centigrade here and you bet it?s so hot that whenever I come home after work, I feel like a grilled chicken that has just been thrown out of the oven!! Somehow, my water bottle (which holds nearly 2 liters of water) doesn?t let my skin go oily and I am hydrated most of the time. Water plays an important role in upholding body temperature and fluids and from now, we need to ensure that we consume at least (and I mean AT LEAST) 2 liters of water in our 24-hour cycle. That makes up to drinking nearly 8 glasses of water in a day. No juice, no soda pops, no carbonated drinks, just plain water. Temperature doesn?t matter so long as you drink it. But I do recall reading in a weight-loss book that drinking cold water speeds up your fat burning process. The logic here is simple. When we consume cold water, our body needs energy and fat to bring the water to its normal temperature. Therefore, it uses fat which is later converted into energy to bring the water temperature to the needed level that suits our body. So, weight-watchers out there, Cold Water is good for us! Summer is a season where juicy fruits take their disposition. Mangoes are juicy, cool and the king of all fruits but keep your choices open. Pineapples, oranges and grapes are the best choices for summer too. Cucumbers and tomatoes are the best in this season. Watch out for the fruits and veggie section in your grocery store and see if you can find some new fruits or veggies that you would like to try out. We have to adjust our diet according to seasons and eating right with seasons means giving your body what it needs. If you are thinking to lose weight this summer, your choice is the best! Summers are excellent seasons for those wishing to lose weight as more perspiration and fat-conversion to energy takes place which eases burning fat. A quick note on what you need for losing weight this summer:
Keep yourself hydrated and apply sunscreen protection lotions or creams even when at home as the heat (infrared rays) of summer also affects your skin- even though you are indoors. Make sure that you don?t eat or drink too much of sugary foods and go for tasty healthy recipes. This summer, let?s be innovative! Salads are a delicacy of summer seasons. These were a few tips for summer. Have a balanced diet and this summer; make sure that this season would be a season to remember? Happy Summer!! |
