Whether you call it "The Big Apple," "The City That Never Sleeps," or even simply "NYC," it's undeniable that New York City is one of the most exciting in the world. In these books, the famous lyrics, "If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere" certainly ring true. While New York City may seem the epitome of glamour, the characters find out that there is more to Manhattan than yellow taxis, bright lights, and pizza vendors!

"Hot Mess: Summer in the City" by Julie Kraut and Shallon Lester

Armed with her parents' cash, an impending New York internship and her best friend, suburban girl Emma is prepared to have the summer of her life. While she may envision her vacation to be right out of an episode of "Sex and the City," her naivety ultimately gets the best of her, as the experience is much more scary than it is Carrie!
