The Social Security Administration (SSA) notified us that due to a system problem with their new Court not allowed Garnishment System (COGS), there will be a delay in the receipt of approximately 14,000 child support payments (nationwide) scheduled for delivery around July 3, 2006. We do not know which specific cases in Iowa are affected.

SSA is investigating the problem and taking corrective action. They will provide us with more information sometime this week about the payments affected and when states can expect to receive the payments. Carol Eaton asked the Carroll CSRU to contact Maja to let her know. They tried calling her but could not reach her so they sent her a letter. The good news is that we got an email today from CSC that they had received the bulk of the July SSA payments today. Hopefully, Maja's was included. CSRU is checking her case to see if her payment was in the one's received today, if it was it should post to her case tonight. I will keep you posted.
