Fat Does Not Make You Fat
Fat does Not Make You Fat. One of the other huge myths is that fat makes you fat. It doesn?t. When you eat fat, your body has to break it down into its little building blocks and then absorb the pieces. The fat you have in your body is not the same as the fat you eat. In fact, the fat naturally found in whole foods is fat you actually need for your body to function properly.
The Right Diet Pill ? Where Do You Begin?
The right diet pill should be carefully considered when deciding how much weight you are looking to lose. More importantly, it is necessary to consider how you will keep the weight off once your targeted weight is achieved. It should be no surprise that the health industry is a multi-billion dollar market place. After all, this is the age of automation, remote controls, fast food, and fast lifestyles. As a result, a variety of Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech, and Natural Development companies are spending hundreds of millions of dollars on research and development each year. Until recently, much of the emphasis on the research was being put on weight loss and not so much on weight control.
Is the Dr Atkins Diet Safe?
The Dr Atkins Diet has been around for ages, but it has gained significant popularity just over the last several years. Despite its popularity, as with many low carb diets, the Dr Atkins Diet has been the subject of a lot of controversy.
Low Carb Diets: Craze or Crazy?
Low carb diets, though popular, have met with much controversy. This type of diet simply doesn?t fit with what the American Heart Association recommends. But the success that so many people have had with low carb diets can really make you wonder if the food pyramid that we all learned in grade school, has been wrong all along.
Weight Loss Success with the South Beach Diet
The South Beach Diet was not created by your typical weight loss guru. A cardiologist developed an eating plan in response to his patients lack of success with the diet recommended by the American Heart Association. When he saw so many heart patients getting healthier with the change, the bestselling South Beach Diet was born.
Weight Loss Woes
Weight loss is an issue that affects men and women alike. Children, particularly young girls, are also starting to think about weight loss at younger and younger ages. This isn?t really that surprising if you take a look at all of the pressure that is put on Americans to be thin and beautiful. Ironically, for many people, it?s that pressure to measure up to what they see on television and in magazines that drives them to overeat in the first place.

Anger: The Unexpected Emotion After Gastric Bypass Surgery
The words I read made me furious. There it was, in black and white, the story of a fussy baby who was spoon fed ice cream to keep her quiet. I was reading a baby book and that baby was me! I was indignant ? how dare my parents comfort me ? at six months old ? with ice cream? No wonder I grew up to be a fat adult addicted to high fat sugary sweets. I was a fat baby and I became a fat child, a fat teen and a fat adult. All because at six months the solution for my tears was ice cream.
Pediatric Obesity: A Look at the Epidemic
Obesity in America is at an epidemic level. It is a global issue and the statistics only prove that it continues to rise. The world?s children face the threats of this global obesity epidemic and the prevalence of obesity in children continue to rise. Over the last 30 years the number of overweight children has doubled. Over 30% of children ages 6-19 are considered overweight. Of these, 15% are considered obese. Unfortunately, excess weight and obesity in childhood has been found to be an indicator of obesity in adulthood and statistics further show that teenagers have an 80% probability of being obese in adulthood.

Gastric Bypass Patients at Risk for Stomach Blockage: How to Avoid This
In a gastric bypass the connection between he stomach pouch and the small intestine is called the gastrojejunal anastomosis. It is roughly the diameter of a ladies little finger. This small opening slows food from leaving the stomach too quickly prolonging the satiated feeling. In extremely rare cases scar tissue may form at this connection resulting in a blocked outlet. Treatment to correct this is the insertion, endoscopically, of a special balloon. The balloon is inflated and expands the anastomosis returning it to the correct size.

Fat Loss Exercise Strategies
How many calories you consume has a big impact on fat loss or gain. If you eat more calories than your body is able to burn will result in weight gain. The best thing about exercise is that the more you do the less you have to worry about calories and you are able to stimulate fat loss.
One of the biggest misconceptions about exercise is that there is "one" program that works for someone all the time. People think that they need to get on a particular workout program and just keeping doing that program over and over again. Although getting on a good program IS a necessary first step, ensuring that your body doesn't adapt to that program is critical to ensuring that your results don't slow down or stop!

Low Carb Diet Secrets Revealed!
You may be considering a low carb diet program, but wonder if they really work, and if so, how well?
Diet and Exercise Evolution: Water: 65% of Your Body Cant be Wrong
The function of your kidneys is to filter your blood (which is mostly water). And one
of the functions of your liver is to metabolize fat. If you don't consume enough
water, your kidneys can't function properly, so your liver starts to help perform
kidney functions. So, if your liver is busy helping your ailing kidneys, you can't burn
as much fat. Let me repeat that: No matter how much you exercise, if you don't
drink enough water, your liver will not metabolize fat for you, because it is
trying to help your kidneys.
Too Much Water?
Being hyper-hydrated (consuming too much water) is not in any way harmful
, and actually helps your body metabolize fat. The greatest ill effect of excess
water consumption is that you will visit the washroom more often. Consider it a
chance to fit in a little more exercise into your daily routine.
There have been a few cases of long distance runners who have died from drinking
water to toxic levels, but this is extremely rare, and their situation is very unique, so
it is nothing for a normal person to worry about.
You may have a medical condition that causes you to retain water, probably because
of excess salt (sodium) in your system. The solution is simple: drink more
water. Your body retains water for the same reason it retains fat: your body
thinks that it's hard to come by. If you teach your body that food is abundant, it will
stop storing it. If you teach your body that water is abundant by drinking more of
it, your body will stop storing it. For more information on how your body adapts to
various stimuli, read my articles about adaptation on my website, they're free.
The more water you drink the healthier your skin becomes, because it has to be
moisturized from the inside and out. It also contributes to joint lubrication,
reducing the risk of injury in any activity. Water is the best cure for constipation,
and should be your first choice, even before increasing fiber or taking
When you are active, you should drink even more water, especially on hot days, to
replace what you lose in sweat. Do not wait until you're thirsty, because
that is your body telling you that it is already under-hydrated. Try to keep yourself
over-hydrated for best health. Here's an extra tip: cold water is more easily
absorbed into your system, plus it slightly lowers your body temperature, so you
have to burn a few extra calories to bring your body temperature back up.
I Drink Plenty of Coffee, That's Mostly Water, Right?
What counts as water? Some say "only water", but some research has found that
fruit juices that are mostly water can be counted towards your daily quota.
However, you simply can't drink as much juice as you can water. Juice will fill you
up, and contains sugar which you should try to minimize in your diet. So, it's really
not a substitute for simple, clear water. And even though coffee is made with
mostly water, it does not count since it is a diuretic and actually
strips water from your system. Colas are also full of that diuretic caffeine, besides
their ultra-high sugar content, so soft drinks should be the first item to stop
consuming if you're trying to lose weight. Replace those "alternatives" with a
glass of water, and you'll feel better and start losing pounds and inches.
It was recently found that even diet sodas do not help dieters, go to the "news"
section of my site to read more about this research.
I hope it goes without saying that alcohol, even when mixed with water, is a diuretic
and my advice is to minimize your consumption of alcoholic drinks.
You don't have to drink a huge glass or two all at once, either. I have a large
glass of water at my desk all day. As soon as it is empty, I refill it. I naturally
sip it whenever I like, and I end up drinking more than my quota of water every day.
