pre-schoolersKIDS WINTER SONGS & ACTION
RHYMES

Sing these songs with your family and friends this winter season.

Chubby Little Snowman

A chubby little snowman,

(Hold hands out to demonstrate “chubby”)

Had a carrot nose.

(Point to nose.)

Along came a bunny,

(Hop like a bunny.)

And what do you suppose?

(Shrug shoulders; hold out hands, as if to question.)

That hungry little bunny,

(Rub stomach.)

Looking for his lunch.

(Hold hand above eyes, as if searching for something.)

Ate that snowman’s carrot nose,

(Pretend to eat.)

Nibble,
nibble, crunch!!

The Frost Song

(Sung to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell”)

The frost is in the air.

The frost is in the air.

It’s wintertime, It’s wintertime,

The frost is
in the air.

The frost is on the trees.

The frost is on the
trees.

It’s wintertime, It’s wintertime,

The frost is on the trees.

The frost is on the roof.

The frost is on the roof.

It’s wintertime, It’s wintertime,

The frost is on the roof.

The frost is on the windows.

The frost is on the windows.

It’s
wintertime, It’s wintertime,

The frost is on the windows.

The
frost is on the ground.

The frost is on the ground.

It’s wintertime, It’s
wintertime,

The frost is on the ground.

The frost tells me it’s
cold.

The frost tells me it’s cold.

It’s wintertime, It’s wintertime,

The frost tells me it’s cold.

So inside I’ll stay.

So
inside I’ll stay.

Inside it’s nice, and I am warm.

So inside I’ll stay.

Here’s A Hill

Here’s a hill,

(Tilt left arm so that it forms a hill.)

And here’s a hill,

(Tilt right arm so that it forms a hill.)

All covered with snow.

(Raise hands above head. Bring down toward ground, wiggling fingers like falling snow.)

I’ll jump on my sled,

(Pretend to jump on sled.

And ZOOM! Down I’ll go.

(Clap hands together, sliding one hand off the other. Continue downward
motion.)

Putting on Mittens

(Sung to the tune of “The Farmer in
the Dell”)

Thumbs in the thumb place,

Fingers all together.

This
is the song we sing

In mitten weather.

Snowball Story

I made myself a snow ball as perfect as could be.

I thought  I’d keep it as a pet and let it sleep with me.

I made it some pajamas and a pillow for it’s head.

Then, last night it ran away.

But first it wet the bed.
