Jamie is a work at home mom living in Universal City, Texas with her husband and their four children. She is a published Poet and started her Writing/Copy Writing Business in 2002 shortly after she quit working out of the home. In 2004 she started submitting poetry for Families Online Magazine and later starting writing the Work at Home monthly column. By 2005 Jamie expanded her horizons as a Virtual Assistant managing the help desk for Kindersigns.com. She is now the Director of Operations for Kindersigns.com and the Support Manager/Asst to the President of Bizymoms.com. Jamie also creates Character Letters for children. In 2007 she published her first book Tangerine Sky- a book of poetry and short stories.

Happy Fall Marketing

It's October already- my favorite three month trio is beginning again! Unfortunately, I have spent too much time shopping and spending money on new Halloween decorations than I have on business!…Just couldn't help myself. It's got me worried that I'll do the same for November and December. In fact, I have already gotten a few things here and there for December.

So with that said- let's get on with it. The kids are settled into a normal routine with school, homework, extra terrestrial activities and such. And though I enjoyed sleeping in as always, thank goodness for school. My day runs so much more smoothly without playing referee between my kids' brawls and boredom. Plus I have accomplished a lot work wise.

Just wanted to bring up a few reminders regarding your home business; be sure you are staying on top of your taxes. If you are not keeping files and tracking your purchases and sales you better get to it. Unfortunately, tax season is just around the corner and it will be here a lot sooner than you think it will. Time has been going by so quickly and if you wait- you'll be up all night at the very last minute. Don't procrastinate on this one people!

Another yearly task is submitting and resubmitting your web site and page links. It is important to get into the search engine ranks. And of course, something you should be doing weekly…..MARKETING!

I've been working on re-vamping my web sites, updating information and whatever else needs to be done with them. You should probably do this at least every six months to once a year. Add in some fresh content copy, etc. Which by the way, if you need a writer, I'm always available! Now that folks is a little 'marketing' on my part!

Something new- I just recently bought a web site geared to Texas WAHMS (work at home moms) and networking. I'm excited to take over this web site and add a bit more to it. It will also be available for those work at home dads as well. I plan on adding in resources and adding some new copy. I'll let you know all about it next month : Until then, I am going to get some work done and fight the urge to shop and decorate.
