Customer Appreciation
by Jamie Edson Opielski

Acquiring clients takes hard work and persistent marketing. When you run a home business, clients and returning clients are an important part of making your business thrive. After you bring in a new client, always give them more than 100% on the work they outsource to you. Giving your clients the best you can and staying in constant contact about your work progress makes them happy with knowing they have chosen the right person to handle their outsource and that you are dependable to get the job done.

In turn your clients will have good words to say about your work ethics and will be more apt to tell their ‘friends’ about you.

Once completing a job always send a thank you note thanking them for giving you the opportunity to work for them, and regardless if you work one or several jobs for them put them on your Christmas card list. Adding your clients to your address book is important in showing ‘customer appreciation’. Not only by sending cards on holidays, but sending birthday and or anniversary cards shows that you care. If you send out newsletters whether by email or snail mail be sure to add them to that list as well.

Customer appreciation comes in many ways. You as a business owner needs to find them and see what best suites your business. Be sure to keep them (clients) in the loop to receive any discounts or special promotions that you may offer. Something to consider having on hand are business cards, calendar magnets, pens or pencils, note pads, sticky notes, etc, all with your business information. Sending these to your clients also gives them a reminder of the work you have done for them. Not to mention they do for the most part enjoy receiving these things and is also appreciated on their part. So in a nutshell freebies to give away will help your clients remember you.

You may even think of other ways to show customer appreciation, like a gift card to their favorite restaurant, movie rental, flowers, etc. The possibilities are endless. If you are just starting out stick with notes and emails and Christmas cards, but most of all keep giving 110% of yourself, that overall would be the most appreciated.
