t’s finally here- my favorite month of the year! The Pilgrims and Indians come down only to be packed away for another year. Now up go Santa, Frosty, elves, Rudolph and his reindeer friends.
I always have the most fun decorating for the Christmas Holidays. The only bad thing is the mess in between and of course taking it all back down in January.
There is so much you can do when decorating your home and office/ work space. So, for a bit we are going to forget about business and have a little holiday fun! So let’s turn on the Christmas music, make a mug of hot chocolate and start pulling out all of the décor.
I myself prefer to put the tree up first. It is usually the most time consuming and can be difficult when the light strands don’t want to wrap around the tree the way you want them to! Everything else is a snap to set out, hang or whatever you need to do with it.
Every year you tend to put everything in the same place through out your house. So what about your home office? Have you ever decorated your office during the holidays? This is my first year getting to actually decorate my home office for Christmas, before my office was a corner in the living room!
I have a small tree that I am placing on the top of my bookshelf with little ornaments, some window characters, lights around my windows, a small nativity on one of my shelves, and some colorful garland to go around the top of the walls where it meets the ceiling. And of course, you can’t forget a scented candle! OH- and a candy dish too!
During the month of December I have a holiday mug that I use for my coffee and the radio always stays on to a soft rock station where they play nothing but holiday music all month long! Kind of keeps you in the cheerful spirit!
My favorite day in December is the 24th, Christmas Eve. It is also my Dad’s birthday, so my brother and I and our families go to my parent’s house to celebrate dad’s birthday and have our Christmas together. We hang out, play games, eat, eat and eat. We always make way too much food then live off of it for a week! But it makes for a great time with the family.
