It is time to re-decorate your home office! Take down the ghosts and goblins and hang up the Pilgrims, Indians and turkeys! The October, November, December trio bring a great deal of fun not only to your
home but to your work space as well. Add in a pumpkin pie scented candle and you are all set for the Thanksgiving holidays!
While there is so much to do in preparation for Thanksgiving Day like planning your menu, who’s bringing what, who all will be coming over, will you have enough of this or that, will you have enough room in your living room to watch the football game while you all are stuffed and about to fall asleep…There is still plenty of business to do!
Who wants to think about business when there is so much holiday fun to create! I must admit- I get very distracted, and during December it will only get worse!
Now- onto that business aspect. Is your work ‘feast’ planned for the day? If so, how do you plan it? How do you decide what you are going to deal with first? Me, personally, I take on the most important things first and the things that aren’t so important or that can hold off for a day or two gets moved to the bottom of my list.
Usually, I’ll write out my ‘To-do’ list at the end of the day, so that I can create my list upon what I was able to get finished or start on. Then I can revise my list as needed the following day. On a typical day my list gets revised often!
Now, will you stick to your list? For the most part yes, the important stuff will get done but can’t say the non- important stuff will.
Ok, let’s talk about Thanksgiving Day again. Where will you be having your Thanksgiving dinner? We (my mom and I) have been going back and forth on where we will have Thanksgiving. I called my mom last night and said- “Let’s just have it here, we have more room and it won’t be so crowded”. She finally gave in!
I put in my order for pies…and think I may have gone overboard. Fifty dollars worth- Three pumpkin, three pecan and two apple. Plus we usually make some home made…But, I figured it would be nice to hide a couple away! Just the thought of warming up a piece of pie and slapping some cool-whip on top……My jeans are going to kill me for this!
