Let the Light In

As costs rise all over the nation, land is at a premium and homebuilders are constructing homes even more closely together than ever before.
While this can lead to close knit neighborhoods, the close proximity of the house next door can also cause lack of privacy issues.

For example, if you like the way the morning or afternoon light streams in your curtainless window but you don’t enjoy seeing the next door neighbor, the Brad Pitt un-lookalike, standing shirtless in his yard, consider this option.

An easy way to block the not so desirable view without spending a fortune and without cutting off the sunlight is to fit the window with glass shelves.

I know you can find glass shelving at some home improvement stores, but the choice is limited and to get to a custom fit.
Using glass shelves in a window allows the sunlight to continue to stream through while hiding the views you don¢t want to see.

Some glass shelf kits come with brackets included and some do not, so be sure and check. Once you have your shelves, install the brackets on the inside frame of the window and place the shelves on top of the brackets. Make sure you pay attention to weight limits on the shelves.

Fill each of the shelves with plants-did you know the color green has been proven to create a calming effect?-and assorted flowers in a variety of colorful pottery and planters.
