Little Otter Learns to Swim Children’s Book
Little Otter Learns to Swim
by Children’s Author Artie Knapp and illustrated by Wildlife Artist Guy Hobbs
In this children’s book, Little Otter is taught how to swim and explore the river by his mother. He quickly learns to swim and dive and play in the beautiful river environment. Left on his own he discovers that there are predators he must be aware of and avoid.
The story is followed by two pages of fun facts about river otters as well as information and resources from the River Otter Ecology Project.
The book sets the stage to discuss the environment and eco-friendly living with children. It provides an opportunity for taking children on an outing to a river or nearby creek to learn about local wildlife.
