Crock Pot- Slow Cooker Recipes – Beef Stew – Potato Soup

Start with meat and vegetables, add some spices and combine in a crock pot. The slow cooker will fill the house with smells of home cooked goodness and help gather your family together for an evening family meal.
4 lbs. beef round steak, cut in 1 inch
4 c. sliced carrots
2 c. sliced celery
4 med. onions, sliced
2 (5 oz.) cans water chestnuts,
drained and sliced
2 (6 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms,
1/4 c. plus 2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. salt
2 (16 oz.) cans tomatoes
2 c. Burgundy
In Crock Pot mix meat, carrots, celery, onions, water chestnuts and mushrooms. Mix flour, sugar and salt, then add to meat mixture. Stir in tomatoes and Burgundy. Cover and slow cook 8- 10 hours
Crock Pot Manhattan Style Clam Chowder
1/4 lb. diced bacon, fried & drained
1 lg. onion, diced
2 carrots, thinly sliced
3 stalks celery with leaves, thinly
1 tbsp. fresh parsley (or dried)
1 lg. can tomatoes, broken up, with
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 bay leaf
1 tsp. thyme
3 potatoes, diced
2 or 3 cans clams with juice
Put all ingredients in crock pot. Stir to blend. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then on low for 8 hours. Serves 4.
6 potatoes, peeled & cut into bite
2 onions, chopped
1 carrot, pared & sliced
1 stalk celery, sliced
4 chicken bouillon cubes
5 c. water
1 tbsp. salt & pepper
1/3 c. butter
1 (13 oz.) can evaporated milk
Put all ingredients except evaporated milk in crock pot. Cover and cook on low 10 to 12 hours or on high 3 to 4 hours. Stir in milk during last hour.
