Healthy Super Bowl Party Snacks

Let’s face it – watching TV comes hand in hand with snacking. With the number one watched program on television comes one of the top days for over snacking and loading on the calories.
While fried chicken, beer, and cheese puffs may have tasted good at last years Super Bowl Party, why not replace the junk food with some healthy snacks that will keep you feeling great even after the game is over.
Layered Bean Dip The great thing about a bean dip is that it can be made nutritious and still keep it’s kickin’ flavor. Substitute the sour cream with yogurt, and make sure the beans are fat free. One layer of salsa and one with guacamole made any way you desire is wholesome and tasty!
Chicken Breast Skewers Instead of fried chicken or wings loaded with skin and fat, try barbequing skinless chicken breast on a skewer. Once grilled, top the chicken with your favorite sauce. BBQ or a spicy hot wing sauce never disappoints.
Fruit tray Chop up your favorite fruits and keep them refrigerated and cool before you start snacking. For some extra sweetness, dip the chopped fruit into some cool whip. My favorite is the berries. Delightful and even satisfies as a dessert substitute.
Beer Not just any beer, though! A couple beers before half time can easily push to 400 calories, so keeping the calories low comes hand in hand with a low calorie beer. Try opting for the low calorie beer this Super Bowl, ratings show that very few taste the difference.
