Volunteering an hour here and there is the perfect cure for boredom. Nothing is more fulfilling than helping those in need and it’s a bonus when you enjoy what you are doing. Check out these helpful sites and find the opportunities that fit you.

www.VolunteerMatch.org

Want to help children in California or feed the hungry in New York? Type in your zip code and Volunteermatch.org will direct you to organizations needing volunteers in your area. If you are looking to help for something specific (like gardening or animals), you can refine your search and find an opportunity that really interests you. Volunteermatch.org also list the virtual opportunities, meaning you can even volunteer without leaving having to leave your computer screen.

www.YouthNoise.com

Though this site has a search engine similar to volunteer match, Youth Noise is specifically geared towards teenagers. With message boards, inspiring stories from other teens, scholarship information, a, you can even take a quiz to narrow down the perfect volunteer opportunities for you. When a volunteer opportunity matches your requirements, you’ll get an update. There are other helpful tools such as a log that keeps track of your volunteer hours as well as easy to read but informative articles on the art of volunteerism.

www.EnergizeInc.com/art.html

Energize Inc has a huge resource library chockfull of information and helpful tips on all things related to helping and volunteering.
